WHAT ASSURED CARE STAR RATING AUDIT SAY'S
I am impressed again by the evident commitment of your staff, their affection for the residents and the very low staff turnover.
All staff interviewed did very well on this year’s topics of “Confidentiality”, “Residents Rights”, and I.P.C. They not only showed good knowledge of appropriate policies, procedures and best practice, but were also able to discuss matters normally falling outside these formal considerations. All recognised the need to discuss with other staff and management and to take advice when niecessary.
Your residents are evidently well cared for. The residents I interviewed confirmed this most definitely, as did the resident’s daughter I also interviewed. This lady could not have been more emphatic that Melrose Court is responsible for her Mother still being alive. She said that, when Mother was admitted everyone expected her to die shortly thereafter, but that the loving care of the staff pulled her round to the extent that she is now up and about and taking part in the life of the home.
Must be very encouraging to read the entirely positive comments on both residents and relatives questionnaires, reinforced through my interviews with them.
All staff without exception praised extensively by residents and visitors emphasising love and care.
WHAT THE CARE QUALITY COMMISION INSPECTOR SAYS
We had an inspection by the CQC in January 2019 and attained a GOOD rating in all areas of the inspection.
Prospective residents are assessed prior to admission to ensure their needs can be
met.
Medication is administered to the residents safely by staff that are trained to do so.
Residents are treated with respect and dignity and encouraged to make choices in their daily lives.
Visitors are encouraged to call and join in the homes activities. Activities provided are stimulating and enjoyed by the residents and staff.
Meals are home cooked and alternative’s offered, thus ensuring the residents receive nutritious food.
Staff are trained to carry out their roles safely to meet the resident’s needs.
The home is well maintained and provides a comfortable, safe place for the residents to live.
Staff were observed to treat all residents with dignity and respect at all times during the day, they were also observed responding to the residents needs quickly if the call bell rang and dealt with personal care in the privacy of their own rooms.
Our latest CQC inspection found us to be compliant in all areas of care set out in the care standards regulations.
